CLHELP CIGUIDETOINTERVIEWS Composed by: Entaro on or about the 16th of Scarlatan, 450 AF. CONDUCTING AN INTERVIEW 1. When a cub requests an interview, check on Foxes to see if anyone is able to observe you BEFORE you agree to conduct one for the cub. Once you know you have an observer, you can instruct the cub to meet you at Vixen, and, from there, you can take the cub to a quiet, out of the way spot. Make foxes clan your active clan and 'clan enemy Starting interview of Cub ' 2. Check the cub's vials next. **Be sure you have put your own vials away first.** Also, ask the cub what mending salves and immunity elixirs are used for. 3. Examine the cub for a proper description, it should be at least three lines and appropriate. Give any suggestions you might have if you see the need for improvement. This includes: correcting spelling/grammar errors in the description, aiding in rewriting inconsistencies such as a gesture (or anything else that isn't applicable to both standing/sitting/sleeping), removing any non-descriptive information (bloodline references, personality references or details like "...is a very nice person." 4. Ask the cub to tell you everything he or she knows about rifts and packs- they should be able to tell you what is stored in each, what can/should NOT be stored each, how to see what is held in each, and how to get things in and out of both. 5. Ask the cub what tattoos they have. 6. Have the cub tell you what the bylaws mean to them, in their own words. 7. At this point, the real interviewing part will begin. Generally interviews contain 4 lines of questioning, beginning with... Part 1: What does it mean for you to be a Sentinel? Why you want to be a Sentinel? Why not another Forestal House? What are the Sentinel duties? What are your ambitions? What is your definition of Nature? Part 2: Put the following things in order of importance (this list might vary from interviewer to interviewer): house, family, city, nature, gold, friends, self, skills,... feel free to add or change some, sometimes I include forest too. Once the cub has done this, have him explain IN DETAIL why he chose this order one sentence explanations don't cut it. If the cub has two things "tied", be sure to find out exactly why. Part 3: Why did you join the sentinels? (This question is your starting point, and all other questions will be based upon the cub's answer to this. You'll need to be paying attention and listening carefully. Some cubs will go on and on and on, and others will need a lot of prodding. It is your job to determine what the cub's priorities and ideals are and how he will work within the framework of the Sentinels, so be sure you question the cub until you are satisfied.) Part 4: This part involves giving scenarios that will test how a cub will react when faced with tough choices. Good answers will show clear priorities and a dedication to the preservation of nature. A couple examples of these kinds of questions are below, but you are free to come up with your own, provided they put the cub in a difficult situation that requires some thought. ---CLANHELP SCENARIOS WILL GIVE YOU SEVERAL IDEAS TO GO ON--- 8. After the questioning is finished, you will need to make a determination of pass or fail. Sometimes the answer will be clear to you from the beginning other times you will need to really think about what is best both for the House and the cub. This is a serious decision, for all parties involved, and you should take the responsibility you have seriously. 9. If you decide the cub has passed, recite the Sentinel oath (See Below) and have the cub repeat it back to you. Ask on HTS for the cub to be retitled "Sentinel Cub" and get someone of HR10 or BELOW to Housefavour them. Then announce over HT that the cub has passed his or her test. Before you let the cub go, remind them that the cubrules still apply to them and that he or she should read HHELP SENTINELCUBTEST for their next set of requirements. Oath: I swear to defend Nature with my hands, my heart, my life, and my death. In the service of Nature, I will abide by the bylaws of the Sentinels house, remembering always that the interests of Nature come first, those of the House second, and my own third. If a cub fails, send the HoN a message why you failed the cub.
